National Organ Donation Day was held on 3rd August 2023 in Late Nitin College, Pathri by the Department of Zoology under the “Angadan Mohotsav” campaign.
The President of the program was the Principal of Late Nitin College, Pathri, Dr. R. S. Funne. The Chief Guest was Dr. L. R. Manwatkar (M. B. B. S.).
Mr. L.R. Manawatkar gave information in his Speech about NOTTO (National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation), an organization working on an organ donation. What is organ donation? Who should do it? Who can donate organs? Where to register organ donation? On the basis of this question, he created awareness among the students and teachers. He further said that it is necessary to create an organ donation movement in India and the states. The number of road accidents has increased to a great extent. Accordingly, 0.1 % of organ donation is done in India. It must grow. The colleges organize such programs to create a people’s movement.
On this occassion, the Head of the Department of Zoology Dr. R. S. Babare administered the pledge of the students and teachers regarding organ donation.
The welcome address was given by Dr. R. S. Babare, The Introductory speech of the program was done by Dr. S. P. Gaikwad. Mr. R. A. Gayke was given by a vote of thanks. 113 students are present in the program. Special efforts were taken by Dr. S. T. Samale, Dr. A. G. Badne, Dr. G. J. More for the success of the program.
To make this program successful all teachers and non-teaching staff of our college have taken lots of effort.
