Visit to Fish Market, Pathri – Report
The Department of Zoology organized a study tour (visit) at Pathri Fish Market on 12th October 2023. The aim of this visit was to observe fish as well as non-fish fauna. A total of 14 students of B. Sc. Third year were present for the visit. The fish market was 2.5 km away from our college. The team proceeded toward the fish market at 11:00 a.m. There are seven major fish shops. The student observed and studied edible fishes like Anguilla bengalensis, Oreochromis niloticus, Channa striata, Catla catla, Labeo rohita, Notopterus notopterus, Cirrhinus mrigala, Pangasius, Sperata seenghala and only one non-fish Crab. These fishes had come to the fish market from Dhalegaon Dam and Wakki Dam. The team reached at 2:00 p.m. On 12th October at college.
